Oprah Winfrey was born January 29, 1954 in Kosciusko,
Mississipi, the daughter of Vernon Winfrey and Vernita Lee. She earned her BA
in Speech and Drama at Tennessee State University. In 1986 Oprah Winfrey formed
Harpo Productions, Inc. which produces The Oprah Winfrey Show, the highest rated
talk show in television history. Oprah Winfrey is owner and CEO of Harpo Productions,
Inc., a vehicle through which she also produces films and television specials.
