Raven currently stars as Raven Baxter, a confident,
charismatic teen whose ability to see flashes of the future compel her to embark
on a series of comical misadventures, in Disney Channel's original comedy series
"That's So Raven." Concurrent
with her leading role on "That's So Raven," she plays the voice of Monique, a
recurring role on Disney Channel's animated action/comedy "Kim Possible" and will
star in the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie "The Cheetah Girls."
Born
in Atlanta, Georgia, Raven (formerly credited as Raven-Symone) began her career
in the entertainment industry at the age of three. Best known as the adorable
Olivia from the long-running hit series "The Cosby Show" and Nicole in "Hangin'
with Mr. Cooper," she also appears as Eddie Murphy's rebellious daughter Charisse
in "Dr. Dolittle" and "Dr. Dolittle 2." She began her association with Disney
Channel when she starred in the popular Disney Channel Original Movie "Zenon."
The multi-faceted teen, who has been nominated for two prestigious
NAACP Image Awards, is also a recording artist. She released her hit single, "That's
What Little Girls Are Made Of," when she was five. That same year, she debuted
on Broadway with the Boys Choir of Harlem for their 25th Anniversary celebration.
More recently, she toured with N'Sync to support her latest CD, "Undeniable."
Raven is a humanitarian who addresses issues of concern to
children. She has served as an ambassador for Secretary of State Colin Powell's
"Children First" program and speaks on behalf of the National Safe Kids Campaign,
a program encouraging home safety for families. Considered
a "normal kid" by entertainment standards, Raven lives outside of Hollywood and,
when she isn't working, attends regular school. She enjoys jet skiing, has a passion
for cooking, and loves to paint. |
